Bioelectronics
Discovery and Innovation
Bioelectronics is at the intersection of two rapidly evolving fields—bio/medicine and semiconductor/electronics. SRC hosted two roundtables, which resulted in reports detailing research opportunities and priorities. Experts agreed that the greatest potential impacts exist in the areas of:
- personalized medical diagnostics and monitoring,
- implantable medical devices and prosthetics, and
- medical imaging.
At present, SRC is identifying a “bioelectronics community” with representation from industry, academia, and government.
Companies and others interested in the possibility of joining a bioelectronics research initiative should contact Celia Merzbacher.
