Background

The SRC Liaison Program is one of the most effective methods developed by SRC to provide its members with early access to key technologies, substantial leverage in the explicit direction of technology development, and ultimate transfer of semiconductor technology from the research base to the supporting industry. Each year SRC recognizes individuals who, in serving as SRC Industry Liaisons , have had significant impact on the technical contributions of the research, are deeply committed to the education of graduate students, and have been instrumental in transferring the research results to industry.

Nominations

Nominations for individuals serving as SRC Industry Liaisons for a period of at least one year will be accepted from members of the SRC community. Past winners may only receive the award once for an individual task.

Nominators should use the Nomination Form with additional supporting documentation as appropriate. NOTE: Nominations should include letters of support from the faculty/students associated with the research.

Nominations must be submitted to awards@src.org by Thursday, April 17, 2014. Receipt of all submissions will be confirmed by e-mail. Nominators will be informed of incomplete nominations. Incomplete nominations will be rejected if requested information is not provided.

Selection

Evaluation of all nominations will be conducted by Science Area Directors and an Awards Selection Committee. Finalists and nominators will be notified of the Board of Directors' decision, with the presentation made during TECHCON 2015.

Criteria

Three selection criteria will be used by the committee ans each should be addressed in the nomination narrative.

  1. The Liaison's role in Developing the Workforce.
  2. The Liaison's effectiveness and involvement in Aligning Research to industry needs, as well as guidance and material help during all phases of the research process.
  3. The Liaison's role in Technology Transfer from the university community to the industrial community.
