Biography: Li-C Wang
Li-C. Wang, is a professor of the ECE department and the Director of Computer Engineering at University of California, Santa Barbara. He received PhD in 1996 from University of Texas at Austin, and was previously with Motorola PowerPC Design Center until 2000. He joined UCSB in 2001, and since 2004 his research has been focusing on machine learning specifically for applications in EDA and Test, where more than 80 papers and 17 PhD theses have been published on the topic. His earlier research covers other topics such as statistical timing analysis, defect-oriented testing, and SAT solvers. He received 7 Best Paper Awards from major conferences, including the latest from ITC 2014 and VTS 2016. He is the recipient of the 2010 Technical Excellence Award from Semiconductor Research Corporation (SRC) for his research contributions in data mining for test and validation. He is the recipient of the 2017 IEEE Computer Society TTTC Bob Madge Innovation Award. He is an IEEE fellow and currently serves as the General Chair of the International Test Conference (ITC).
