Below is a list of email messages that were sent to SRC Research Scholars related to the TECHCON Abstract Submission process

SRC: TECHCON Submission Closes MONDAY - Please read (13 Mar 2025)

Monday, March 17, is the abstract submission deadline for TECHCON. We encourage every undergraduate student to submit an abstract, and every graduate student in their 2nd year or beyond to submit 1-2 abstracts. Remember, TECHCON represents a unique opportunity to directly network with industry recruiters and professionals. Submit an abstract here: https://src.secure-platform.com/a/page/techcon

Is March 17 the real deadline?

Abstracts will not be accepted after 11:59 p.m. Eastern time on Monday, March 17, 2025. There are no exceptions.

If you request an exception to this deadline, your Advisor will be notified, and you may be marked as ineligible for TECHCON next year.

I have started a submission. Is it okay if I finish submitting it after March 17?

Any in-progress submissions that are not finalized by 11:59 PM Eastern time on March 17 will be deleted. Incomplete submissions must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. Eastern time on Monday, March 17, 2025.

How do I know if my submission is incomplete?

Your abstract submissions can be found here: https://src.secure-platform.com/a/organizations/main/submissions

If you have an incomplete submission, you will see it listed in this category.

Something's come up and I won't be able to submit on time.

We're sorry. We know that life gets busy. Unfortunately, the four-week abstract submission period is ending. Abstracts will not be accepted after the submission deadline of 11:59 PM Eastern on Monday, March 17.

I am worried that my research isn’t mature enough to submit an abstract.

It’s okay if your research is still in the early stages. There will be time for additional development and improvement between now and the event. Please submit your abstract.

SRC: Students Should be Applying to TECHCON (27 Feb 2025) PIs Only

We have a valuable opportunity for SRC Research Scholars to showcase their work! For over 30 years, TECHCON has created a unique environment in which SRC Research Scholars can network directly with industry professionals from SRC member companies. The Abstract Submission period for TECHCON 2025 is currently underway.

It is expected that every graduate student in their 2nd year or later will submit 1-2 abstracts, while all undergraduate students are expected to submit an abstract. Submissions are accepted until March 17th, so about two weeks remain.

TECHCON is a competitive conference with an acceptance rate of roughly 30%. Please note that acceptance to TECHCON is not solely based on technical content. Other factors, such as proximity to graduation date, may influence selection which allows SRC to create the most robust conference experience possible. Graduate students who have recently graduated or are within a year of graduation are often selected because members are looking to hire SRC Research Scholars. This event is hosted for the benefit of sponsoring companies and supported SRC Research Scholars.

Please encourage your students to

  • Complete their student profile (help article)
  • Provide their race and gender (help article)
  • Submit an abstract (link) Please note that some students have started submissions but have not completed them. These in-progress submissions must be finalized by the students.

A quick note about providing race and gender information. We know that people are complex and don't fit neatly into a census box. When students share race and gender information with SRC, they help us measure and track progress in building a diverse community. This information is not shared with members except in the aggregate. Thank you for continuing to develop and nurture SRC Research Scholars on your SRC project.

SRC Member Companies, along with government agencies DARPA and NSF, include Advanced Micro Devices, Analog Devices, Applied Materials, Arm Limited, ASM International, Boeing, Chemonics International, EMD Electronics, GlobalFoundries, HRL Laboratories, IBM Corporation, Intel Corporation, MediaTek, Micron Technology, NXP Semiconductors, Qorvo, RTX Corporation, Samsung Electronics, Siemens EDA, SK hynix, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited, Texas Instruments Incorporated, Tokyo Electron Limited, and Veeco Instruments.

SRC: TECHCON Preparation Begins Now (4 Feb 2025)

We're excited to announce the upcoming SRC TECHCON conference, held in Austin, TX on September 7-10, 2025. This event is an amazing opportunity for SRC Research Scholars to network with SRC member company scientists and engineers.

Students who are selected to attend TECHCON are chosen on the basis of their abstract submission. The TECHCON Abstract Solicitation will be open from February 12 to March 17, 2025.

As a participant on SRC research, students and professors collaborate to ensure each student's profile is accurate in Pillar Science. This involves correctly assigning students to projects and ensuring their profiles are complete. Students with incomplete profiles or inaccurate project assignments may not be considered.

Professors:

Verify that all students are accurately listed on your Team roster in Pillar Science.

Ensure that your projects have the correct set of students assigned.

Students (undergrad, graduate students, and postdocs):

Make sure you are assigned to the correct research project and that your profile is complete in Pillar.

Taking this action now ensures accurate submissions and contributes to the overall success of the conference. We appreciate your proactive involvement. Stay tuned for further messages as we set the wheels in motion for a successful TECHCON submission.
