Summer Student Intern Opportunity

Position Summary:

Siemens EDA is looking for smart, driven, and inquisitive individuals to join our 2024 summer internship program.  The goal of this program is to help provide successful pathways from education to US based defense microelectronics careers.  This program will require cohorts to become proficient with Electronic Design Automation Tools and leverage them hands on while developing real world education applications for Siemens EDA end users including customers, partners, and university students.  

 

 

Essential
Duties:

 Develop a thorough understanding of new and existing Siemens EDA tool suites to leverage in design and delivery of Microelectronics.  Develop advanced subject matter knowledge in at least two product technology areas and demonstrate expertise through Level 1 and Level 2 certification exams attaining Digital Badges as appropriate in each space.

 

The hands-on job responsibilities will be focused on curriculum and lab design development and testing based on Siemens EDA tool capabilities and feature function release focused on enhancing Microelectronics Designs of the future.

 

Cohorts take on technology-based activities related to development of learning products such as backing up source files, maintaining network environments, maintaining department websites, and/or maintaining content and equipment as needed.

 

Researches, recommends, develops, and contributes on new Siemens EDA tools to ensure learning products keep pace with industry trends and future engineering needs and trends.

 

Contributes to beta test activities and special projects for Siemens EDA as needed.

 

Builds, Demonstrates and Models leadership qualities.  Must be a US Citizen.  Cohorts will receive mentorship and will be assisted in attaining US security clearance enabling them for future work in DOD and DIB industries. 

 

 

Education and  
Experience:

Must be U.S. Citizen

Must be interested in attaining Security Clearance. 

BS EE candidates in junior or senior year, recent EE graduates, veterans with prior EE knowledge

 

Prior EDA tool experience a plus

 

 

Specialized
Knowledge and Skills:

Ability to gain strong knowledge of existing and new Siemens EDA products is required.

 

  Good leadership and presentation skills a plus

 

Ability to learn to work with and solve complex problems.

 

Ability to work well in cross-functional team environment, work collaboratively and effectively within a team.

 

   Must possess acceptable time management communications, inter-personal, verbal, listening,       problem solving, and troubleshooting, decision-making and organizational skills. 

 

Communicates time frames of projects or assignments, gathers the appropriate info by asking relevant questions, shares information from meetings and provides feedback on results from those involved.

Reacts well in collaborative discussions, clarifies situations, remains open to all sides, stays focused on resolution, develops others' and own ideas, initiates action and closes discussions with clear summaries.
