SRC pilots Technology Transfer e-Workshops, a web-based approach for delivering results of key research, with great success.

Technological breakthroughs would be of little value if they were not quickly provided to the members. In 2003 an Internet-based system for delivering results of key research, Technology Transfer e-Workshops, is piloted and ramped-up as a result of overwhelming member requests. Neither the researcher nor the member engineers have the inconvenience or the expense of significant travel, and the lectures, with the audio, are archived on the SRC website.
TECHCON 2003, held in Dallas, Texas, is marked by excitement and energy as 130 SRC students presented a broad spectrum of SRC-funded research in papers and posters.
A new MARCO/FCRP website is released, which fully integrates within the SRC family of sites, better enabling MARCO members to gain rapid access to Focus Center research results.
Fourteen SRC-sponsored U.S. and foreign patents are issued, bringing the total portfolio of SRC-licensed patents to 209, all of which can now be accessed on the SRC website.
More than 1,100 students participate in SRC-funded research, another 350 under MARCO/FCRP research. Of SRC students graduating in 2003, about 70% went to work for SRC member organizations or are undergraduate or master’s students continuing to higher degrees.
