STARnet Recipients of 2014 IEEE Awards
Dr. Avram Bar-Cohen, DARPA Program Manager for STARnet, is the recipient of the 2014 IEEE Components, Packaging and Manufacturing Technology Award “for contributions through leadership, education, and advocacy to thermal design, modeling, and analysis of electronic components, and for original research on heat transfer and liquid-phase cooling.”
Dr. John E. Kelly III, Senior Vice President and Director of IBM Research, received the 2014 IEEE Robert N. Noyce Medal “for global executive leadership in semiconductor technology R&D.” Dr. Kelly serves as the IBM representative on the STARnet Governing Council.
Professor John Ousterhout, a STARnet C-FAR Center Researcher at Stanford University, is a corecipient of the 2014 IEEE Reynold B. Johnson Information Storage Systems Award “for fundamental contributions to the design and implementation of log-structured file and storage systems."
