Biography: Karin Strauss

Karin Strauss

Karin Strauss is a researcher at Microsoft Research and an affiliate faculty member at the University of Washington. Her background is in computer architecture and her current research focus is on using DNA as a medium to store digital information. She is also interested in post-Moore’s processing, storage and communication, as well as living systems in-cell computation, mobile and cloud computing systems, and hardware acceleration for machine learning. She received a PhD in computer science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is an IEEE and ACM Senior Member.
