In the Workforce Development blog series, one thing became clear: the demand for skilled professionals requires proactive and strategic measures to meet the imminent workforce needs of the semiconductor industry. Semiconductors are fundamental to modern technology, from smartphones to renewable energy. Developing talent to fuel this industry is essential in shaping a future driven by semiconductors and enhancing our technology leadership. While SRC supports hundreds of semiconductor engineering students every year via member-sponsored research, we can do more.
We are rallying our vibrant community to fund scholarships for STEM undergraduates. According to the MAPT Roadmap, it is important to "incentivize interest in the semiconductor industry by providing work-based learning (WBL) opportunities, such as scholarships." The SRC MAPT Scholarship will support undergraduates in pursuing STEM fields, conducting research, and driving innovation. By investing in these students, we cultivate future leaders and ensure we remain competitive in technology advancement.
