Harsono Simka of Samsung Electronics is the Senior Director of Logic Pathfinder Lab and this year’s winner of the SRC Champion Award.

Harsono's association with SRC goes back to his graduate school days as an SRC scholar (task 503.003). Back in 1997, Harsono graduated from MIT joined Intel, and has maintained engagement with SRC as a liaison and advisory board member representing both Samsung and Intel. Harsono provides valuable input and direction to GRC, JUMP, nCORE, and JUMP2.0 research programs. With his expertise in the field of semiconductor devices and materials, Harsono helped mentor faculty and scholars to develop their research ideas into industry-relevant solutions. He constantly motivates his company liaisons to take an active part in SRC research.

Harsono took the lead in championing SRC's NMP program to be a great value and asset to Samsung and helped the management drive the decision to join NMP. This was evident in Harsono taking the time and effort to help SRC host the NMP annual review at the Samsung facility. Harsono ensured that the CTO and the decision makers for Samsung R&D were present at the annual review to see in person the value SRC research brings to Samsung.

Harsono is incredibly diligent hard-working and always looking to make the most out of every program.
